The Garage Saga Continues....

Daryl has spent this long weekend working on the garage. Tedford doors installed the garage door for us, as the door was ordered specially to fit with the slightly sloping cement floor, a difference of 3 1/4 inches from one side to the other. Daryl put the back door up using 17 million shims to make it level (see above comment). Daryl states a pre-hung door should be installed within 45 minutes, but due to the sloping floor, this one took about 4 hours. Ugh. He also installed the automatic door opener. Everything works well, and we are very happy with the results thus far. Stay tuned for the next update.....

The Maiden Voyage

Last weekend, we decided to take our "new" trailer for the maiden voyage. There was some work Daryl had to do first, such as hooking up hoses to the different tanks, and ensuring that the trailer was waterproof around the vents, but we finally got it ready and left Friday afternoon for French Beach. The campsite is about 20 kilometres from the house, is within walking distance to the beach and has a playground and all sorts of trails for us to hike. The campsites we nice and big (and flat!) with lots of room for us to spread out all the gear. The trailer worked out really well, and everybody had a good time. We hope to do lots of weekend trips this year, and will go out again in two weeks time.
